Start with the measurement question
Do you need to know whether your brand appears, which sources support an answer, or what to do about a relevant article? Those questions require different capabilities.
We would ask for the actual question, platform, date, and cited sources behind a result before relying on a summary score.
| Product | Documented focus | A question to ask before buying |
|---|---|---|
| Otterly | AI search monitoring and analysis | Which engines and prompt limits apply to my plan? |
| Peec AI | AI search analytics and agent insights | What does the report observe, and over which questions? |
| Profound | AI search analysis and answer-engine insights | Which datasets and workflows fit my team? |
| CiteWing | Visibility checks connected to relevant article outreach | Can I review the article fit and pitch before sending? |
The products have different scopes. This is an editorial comparison of official product information, not a performance benchmark or a complete market inventory.
Check how the observation was made
Read the documentation for supported engines, sampling, update cadence, and reporting limits. A manual answer in your browser may differ from a recorded observation because the question or context changed.
Do not interpret a mention count as the number of people who saw your brand. It describes the tool's observed sample unless the provider demonstrates otherwise.
Choose the action you need
A monitoring team may want reporting and investigation. A founder may need help finding relevant articles and preparing useful pitches. Technical crawl diagnostics are another task again.
Check current product and plan details before purchasing. Our reason for including CiteWing is its outreach workflow, not a claim that it outperforms every specialist monitoring platform.
